Abstract

835,627. Ironing presses. LESSING, R. June 24, 1958 [Aug. 30, 1957], No. 27442/57. Class 138 (2). A pressure plate or spring pad for a garment press has fixed thereto spring anchoring devices for springs having coils formed as substantially circular rings, each device comprising a circular ring 6 of round wire fixed to the interior of the pad, e.g. by welding, and forming a recess in which an end coil of a spring 5 can be accommodated, the ring having a diameter such that a spring may be wound or sprung to pass its end coil into the recess to be held there firmly. The springs may be volute springs and their free ends may have radial extensions adapted to lodge in the recesses of the anchoring devices. The garment contacting part 4 may be of expanded metal to which the anchoring devices are attached by welding. Specification 780,660 is referred to.
