Abstract

835,475. Transmission line networks. COMPAGNIE GENERALE DE TELEGRAPHIE SANS FIL. Oct. 7, 1957 [Oct. 29, 1956], No. 31302/57. Class 40 (8). A hybrid ring microwave circuit of the sandwich form having a strip conductor arranged between conductive plates includes an additional conductive'plate between the said plates which forms shielding against the action of external fields. A metal plate 34 is located between upper and lower metal plates 31, 32: all three plates have the same outline, but plate 34 has a main portion cut out and four substantially radial portions also cut out so that it forms a cavity between plates 31, 32 in the general shape of half a star. A strip conductor 37 is placed on a first dielectric plate 35 which fits into this cavity and a similar second dielectric plate 36 is superimposed so that its upper surface is flush with the top of plate 34. Conductor 37 is formed with upstanding conductors 38 at the end of each arm and these pass through holes 39 in plate 36 and also through hollow cylinders 33 on plate 31, so that they form therewith coaxial lines. In Fig. 4 (not shown) the invention is applied to a circuit formed by the union of three ring hybrids.
