Abstract

835,367. Forced - flow steam boilers. SIEMENSSCHUCKERTWERKE A.G. May 2, 1958 [May 29, 1957], No. 14091/58. Addition to 779,335. Class 123(2) The forced-flow steam generator described in the parent Specification is modified in that the throttling devices incorporate means for preventing the flow from being shut off completely when the generator is operating at low loads. The throttling element 4 is guided by fins 5, 6 for vertical movement within a widened portion 3 of the water tube 2. At its lower end the element has two conically shaped portions 7, 8 joined by a cylindrical portion 9. In its lowest position, as shown, the fins 5 bear on an abutment 10 in the tube 3 and an opening 11 is provided of a size corresponding to a one third full output water flow. As the load increases the element 4 is lifted thus increasing the size of the opening 11 and reducing the flow resistance of the tube 2.
