Abstract

834,320. Rail pads. CLYDE RUBBER WORKS CO. Ltd., and HANNAH, D. M. June 30, 1958 [July 3, 1957], No. 20975/57. Class 104(2). A pad for use with a flat-bottomed rail 6 consists of a slab 1 of resilient material of which two opposed marginal edge portions 2, 3 are upstanding from the plane of the slats. The upstanding portions are bent between their upper edge and the plane of the slats, e.g. inwardly, to form the portion 8 of Fig. 1 which lies on the rail flange 7 or outwardly to form a portion lying on top of the sleeper 5 (Fig. 2, not shown).
