The rail pad of resilient material of the parent Specification formed on each face with parallel grooves, the grooves 3 on face 1 being disposed at right angles to the grooves 4 in the other face 2 is modified by the upper and lower faces 1, 2 of the pad being made parallel and by the sides of the grooves converging towards the groove bottom which is parallel to the respective face.
