833,802. Rod couplings. BAILEY BROS. (HOT PRESSINGS) Ltd., BAILEY, R. W., and BAILEY, A. G. June 30, 1958 [June 29, 1957], No. 20599/57. Class 99(1). In a joint of the type comprising socket members 6, 8, e.g. made as hot brass stampings, for reception of rods 7, 9, the member 6 being provided with a spigot 10 which non-rotatably engages a socket 11 formed in the member 8 and having an external screw-threaded portion 12 for engagement with a ring nut 13 rotatably mounted on the spigot 10, the spigot 10 and socket 11 are of uniform non- circular, e.g. hexagonal, cross-section and the ring nut 13 is restrained against axial displacement by a chamfered metal ring 16, e.g. of brass, which engages an annular groove 17 in the spigot 10. The ring 16 may be jointless or split.
