830,443. Lift trucks. NORTHROP CORPORATION, [formerly NORTHROP AIRCRAFT Inc.]. Oct. 12, 1956 [Nov. 4, 1955], No. 31134/56. Class 78 (3). The lifting cradle 14 of a lift truck is raised by four pairs of toggle links 41, 63 pivoted together at F, to the truck chassis at D, and to the cradle at E, the links being extended by hydraulic thrustors 75 acting between tubes 66, 67, which respectively join together the corresponding lower and upper links on opposite sides of the truck, and the forward pairs of toggle links being stabilized by links 64 pivoted to the lower links at G and to the chassis at 74. The lifting cradle is provided with a pair of rails 58 which carry longitudinally adjustable crutches 62 and which are supported for transverse swinging movement by curved bars 52 which are movable through guide devices 61 by screw jacks (not shown). The truck steering and wheel retracting mechanism is identical with that described in Specification 830,444.
