Abstract
830,346. Side-delivery rakes. VAN DER LELY N.V., C. July 10, 1956 [July 14, 1955], No. 21326/56. Class 6(3). In a side-delivery rake of the kind having rake-wheels 10, 11, 12, the rake-wheel tines are cleared of hay by a rotatable stripping member 50 pressed against the tines and driven thereby. The rake-wheels are mounted on cranks 7, 8 on the frame 1 from which they are resiliently suspended by springs 37, 38. A leaf-spring 45 secured to the crank 7 of the rearmost wheel carries a disc 50 which is rotated by the tines and thereby cleans them. The disc is flat, in the form shown, but a conical member may be employed where the tines are highly flexible and a roller rotatable about a vertical axis may also be used, Figs. 3 and 6 (not shown). The rake-frame includes arched members 13, 14 uniting the main beam with a drawbar 24. The main frame is carried on three swivelwheels 2, 3, 23.
