Abstract

830,318. Gear pumps. BORG-WARNER CORPORATION. April 10, 1958 [April 15, 19571, No. 11421/58. Class 110(2). A multiple gear pump comprising pumping units 18-19, 20-21, 22-23 respectively is provided with common pressure-loaded endplate means or bushings 32, 34 which are connected to the output of one of the pumps. The pumping units are separated by axially-slidable spacer bearing means 40-43 and the gear wheels 20-23 are slidably mounted on their associated shafts as by means of a pin-and-slot connection 35, 36. The pump is mounted in the cylindrical extension 15 of a cup-shaped housing 10 and the inlet of one of the pumping units is connected to the sump disposed between said members 10, 15. The remaining inlet conduits and the three outlet conduits of the pumping units are disposed in the mounting flange 13 of the housing (see Fig. 1, notshown). Specification 572,967 is referred to.
