Abstract

828,854. Two-part couplings. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA A.B. Jan. 25, 1957 [Jan. 26, 1956], No. 2719/57. Class 38 (1). In a plug-and-socket coupling for a train, the socket contact 3 is vulcanized to a resilient member 2 forming one wall of a hermeticallysealed casing 1 in which the terminal end of the socket is located. The socket is formed in two halves having resilient arms 4, 5 which are pivoted together at 9. The resilience of member 2 urges the socket halves apart to an extent limited by a stop 10 and they may be clamped on to a plug pin 14 by a cam member 6 adapted to force apart the inner ends of the socket halves when rotated by a lever 7.
