Abstract

827,889. Door handles. ROWLEY Ltd., W. Feb. 21, 1958 [March 8, 1957], No. 7722/57 Class 44 A door fastening actuating means comprises a rose 4 secured by screws 6 to one side of a door 5 and having rotatably mounted thereon a handle 7 secured to a spindle 8 which has a square or other cross-section for non-rotatable engagement with a part of the fastening mechanism (not shown). The spindle 8 is screwthreaded for engagement by a nut 9 rotatably mounted in a dished plate 10 which is secured by screws 11 to the opposite side of the door 5 and by screws 12 to a second rose 13, a second handle 14 being rotatably mounted in the rose 13 and non-rotatably engaging the end of the spindle 8. A locking piece 15 is provided to prevent relative rotation between the nut 9 and the spindle 8. The handles are rotated against the action of a spring.
