Abstract

854,864. Door operating appliances. NEWMAN & SONS Ltd., W., and SHEAD, H. C. Nov. 12, 1958 [Aug. 31, 1957], No. 27489/57. Class 65(1). An inner casing 1 containing spring door-closing mechanism and housed within an outer frame or loose-box 2 is provided with exterior flanges 3 resting on supports 6 inside the loose-box and releasable means for clamping it in an adjusted position in the loose-box. The clamping means comprises a pair of bars 14, located one on each side of the casing 1, each of which is loosely anchored by a rivet 15 to a lug 8 in the loose-box and has longitudinally-spaced screw threaded holes engaged by screws 17 which pass through apertures in the flanges 3 and relatively large gaps 7 in the supports 6. The casing 1 is moved by hand in its own plane until the desired adjusted position is reached and the screws are then turned to tighten the bars against the undersurfaces of the supports 6 to clamp the casing in the loose-box.
