827,693. Electric battery lamps. CHENG, W. G. May 30, 1958 [Jan. 2, 1958], No. 181/58. Class 39(2) An electric battery lamp having a carrying handle on which the switch is mounted is provided with a swinging arm pivoted to the casing and carrying a second lamp supplied from the same battery but controlled by a separate switch. In the form shown, the battery is housed in a casing 10 having a bracket. 14 at one end for supporting the casing 15 for the main lamp and reflector and a handle 13 mounted on the lid of the casing 10 and having switch buttons 16, 17 for the lamp. Arms 21 on each side of the handle 13 and hinged to the lid at 23 are united at their free ends by a plate 24 parallel with the end of the casing 10. The plate 24 carries a metal cup 25 supporting a plastic cup 27 on which a subsidiary lamp 20 is mounted, and controlled by an independent switch 36. The link 20 may be surrounded by a red transparent shade 49 mounted on the cup 25. Alternatively, the shade may be omitted and the lamp bulb coloured e.g. red or green.
