Abstract
827,454. Connecting-rods. GRITZNERKAYSER A.G. Oct. 22, 1958 [Oct. 23, 1957], No. 33719/58. Class 122 (1). [Also in Group XXXIV] A connecting-rod assembly for a sewing machine comprises a head 4 having therein an eccentric bore 5 and a radial blind bore 22 provided in the position of maximum wall thickness for the reception, in locking engagement, of one end of a connecting- rod 2. The head 4, which may be of circular form and of a plastic material or metal such as brass or aluminium or an alloy thereof, is secured on the end of the rod 2 by having the material forming part of the wall of the bore 22, forced at 8 into an annular groove 3 provided in the end of the rod. The rod, which is connected to the treadle 13 of the sewing machine by a pin 17 passing through a ball race 6, is provided at its opposite end with an identical head for connection with the flywheel of the machine.
