824,948. Road rollers. KOEHRING CO. May 29, 1956, No. 16562 /56. Class 6(1). A road roller is provided with a roll formed with pads fixed around axially spaced annular rings 6 maintained in proper separation by spacers 7. The rings 6 are supported by spokes 8 radiating from hubs 3. The roll is mounted as the front roll of a roller having a plain cylindrical rear roll. The front roll compresses the road material leaving a pattern of depressions and the following plain roll, rolls the material flat. A roller may be provided with two of the sperical rolls or alternatively a three axle tandem roll may be fitted with one or more of the special rolls to replace the cylindrical rolls generally used thereon.
