823,408. Suitcase &c. handles. CHENEY & SON Ltd., C. W. and CHENEY, C. W. Oct. 21, 1957 [July 27, 1956; July 30, 1957], Nos. 23225/56 and 24043/57. Class 133. A handle of the type slideable on loops 7 passing through its ends, the loops 6, 7 engaging plates 8, 9 secured to the suitcase &c., is prevented from being moved longitudinally for stowage by the loops being rendered incapable of pivoting in the plates. The handle must thus be slid down the loops to lie on the suitcase top. In one embodiment the free ends 10 of the loops are turned up to enter a slot 20 in an element 18, held by lugs 19 within the plate. The element has the usual securing tongues 21. In another embodiment the ends 10a, 11a are bent to lie under the plate either in the same or, as shown, in opposite directions.
