Abstract

821,742. Brushing. DIERKS, F. May 9,1957. No. 14771/57. Class 60. [Also in Group XXVIII] A portable motor driven wire brush 10 for removing paint is mounted within a housing 5 so as to project beneath the open bottom thereof and the housing has a suction duct 4 (see Group XXVIII) projecting through a side of a surrounding casing 2 to which said housing is hinged at pivots 3 ; the bottom of the casing having workpiece contacting rollers 8 and air pervious beading 9. The housing 5 and hence the brush 10 which is driven through a belt is adjusted relative to the workpiece by manual means 7 projecting through the cover of the casing 2 and acting against a spring 6 tending to bias the brush away from the workpiece. The brush is cleaned by a stripper comb 14.
