Abstract

In a modification of the process of the parent Specification when the regeneration temperature of the solution, e.g. an aqueous solution of potassium carbonate, used to absorb CO2 and/or H2S from gas mixtures is greater than 215 DEG F., the average temperature of the solution leaving the regenerating column is reduced more than 20 DEG F. but not more than 55 DEG F., preferably not more than 35 DEG F., nor below 195 DEG F., before entering the absorber column.
