Abstract

819,953. Closuring containers. AMERICAN FLANGE & MANUFACTURING CO. Inc. Nov. 29, 1957, No. 37293/57. Class 125(2). In a portable capsealing tool having crimping jaws 66 swingably mounted on the lower end of a spindle 11 and moved to crimping position by downward movement of an enclosing sleeve 54, the sleeve is secured to a cylinder 15, 16 urged downwards by compressed air admitted to spaces 38, 46 beneath pistons 29, 42 carried on the spindle. The compressed air is supplied through a hand-operated valve (not shown) and passages 12, 13, 14 in the spindle. The sleeve 54 and the cylinder are urged upwards by springs 73, 74 and the jaws are opened by garter spring 70.
