Abstract

819,888. Rotary display stands. WHITMARLEY ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. March 4, 1958 [March 7, 1957], No. 7546/57. Class 3(1) [Also in Group XIV] A rotatable base 10 has vertical spindles 13 each carrying a table 14 for displayed goods and rotatable about its own axis. As shown, base 10 is mounted on the vertical spindle of an electricmotor contained in a casing 20 within the base and resting on the supporting surface. The spindle is extended upwards at 11 and is fitted with a table 12 which rotates with the base. Each spindle 13 extends into the base and is fitted with a friction wheel 18 running on the casing 20 to rotate tables 14 as the casing rotates. Tables 14 are mounted on stems received in the top of the spindles and having circumferential grooves selectively engageable by a screw 24 to adjust the table height. By using different sizes of wheel 18 different speeds can be imparted to the tables; by interposing idler wheels between wheels 18 and casing 20, the spindles 13 can be rotated in the opposite direction to the base. The spindles can embody universal joints to allow them to be inclined. A rising and falling motion can be imparted to the tables.
