Abstract
A refractory brick is composed of chromium oxide, preferably not more than 5 per cent., and high purity silica, and it contains not more than 0,5 per cent alumina and alkali and not more than 4 per cent. of the oxides of calcium, magnesium, strontium, manganese, zinc, nickel, cobalt, iron, titanium and barium. The chromium oxide may be chromous oxide, chromic oxide, chromium dioxide or chromium trioxide.
