818,613. Artificial horizon instruments. SPERRY RAND CORPORATION. Feb. 26, 1957 [March 26, 1956], No. 6438/57. Addition to 811,062. Class 4. In an improvement of the invention claimed in the parent Specification the auxiliary index carried by the flat face of the ring 64 consists of a line 76 along or associated with a diametrically opposed line 761, such line(s) being associated with a fixed index 62, representing an aircraft, located at the centre of the window opening. The areas of the ring above and below the line(s) may be marked in distinctive colours to represent earth and sky. The ring carries an additional mark 60 which gives an indication of the degree of roll against a fixed scale 58 through in an alternative embodiment the positions of these marks may be reversed. Specifications 776,578 and 818,614 are referred to.
