Abstract
817,452. Microscopes. LOCQUIN, M. Aug. 19, 1957 [Sept. 20, 1956; May 2, 1957; June 18, 1957], No. 26043/57. Class 97(1) A microscope stand comprises a base part resiliently connected to a part overhanging the base and means inserted between said parts opposite said connection to control the angular position of the overhanging part relative to the base part. As shown, the base part 42 has an upstanding leg 59 integral with the object-stage 43, this leg being resiliently connected by a torsion bar 47 to an upper part 48 which supports the objectives 49 and eyepiece 50. Opposite the bar 47 the parts 42, 48 are joined by a control device 52 formed by a tube 74, Fig. 9, having a screw cap 75 connected by a .spring 77 to a cap 79 which fits over an aperture in the base part. A nut 83 is also threaded on the tube 74 and bears on the base part through a ball run 84 and this nut, when rotated, moves the tube 74 to vary the angular position of the parts 42, 48. The resilient connection may also take the form of a resilient nose engaging the outer surface of leg 59 or accommodated in a groove therein. Also, part 48 may be freely hinged to the leg 59 or part 42 and spring connected thereto.
