Abstract

814,850. Delivering filled bobbins to pinboards. ROSENKRANZ, C. G., HALSTENBACH, H., and PLUTTE, A., [trading as HALSTENBACH & CO.]. Feb 25, 1957 [April 12, 1956], No. 6261/57. Class 120(3) In means for delivering filled bobbins to pinboards in a winding machine, under each winding position is a receiving trough which tilts downwardly when a wound bobbin falls into it and conducts the bobbin to the board which is given a reciprocating movement and, during at least part of the movement, a further movement in a direction inclined to the direction of the reciprocating movement is superposed. In Fig. 1, for each group of winding position Sp there is a member B which slides under the control of the winding apparatus to allow a wound bobbin to fall into a trough 12, one for each position which is carried by pivoted arms 11, and can descend, under the weight of the bobbin, in guides 13. The front of the trough has flaps 18 which are opened or shut as an arm, on the shaft on which they are mounted, engages stops 191, 192, the flaps being held in open or shut position by a spring moving over centres. The bobbins are deposited on pins in boards, a number of which are removably carried by a frame 24 on a plate 3. Vacant pins are brought into position by imparting to the plate the successive movements indicated by the arrows in Fig. 10. The first two movements of each cycle of three is the resultant of two superimposed movements at right angles to which the plate is subjected, and the third a movement in one direction. To this end, the plate is movable on rails 41, Fig. 5, in the direction of the arrow a: together with these rails it can also move according to the arrow b along guide-bars 43. These movement are initiated as each winding is completed and the winding mechanism pulls a cable 44 to rotate a disc 45 against a spring 47. This rotation is transmitted to a ratchet disc having three positions at intervals of 120 degrees, and thus to a shaft carrying a cam 50 and a cam-race 51. The former has three projections two of which, the other being shorter and inoperative, engage one end of a pivoted lever 53 which at the other end engages a rack 31 on the plate 3: the cam-race is engaged by a member 58 anchored at its other end. The pin, arranged on each board in staggered relationship in three rows, project at an angle of less than 85 degrees so that the bobbins do not fall off when the boards are hung up: the handles of the frame are in line with the centre of gravity when loaded for convenience in carrying. When the trough has deposited a bobbin, it returns as a chain &c. 16 is actuated by the winding apparatus, passing beneath a pivoted member c to avoid damage to the bobbins.
