Abstract
813,526. Intake manifolds. GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION. Aug. 13, 1957 [Sept. 10, 1956], No. 25510/57. Class 7(2) Substantially straight intake pipes 62a, 62b from an air box 42 to each cylinder of the banks 14 of a Vee-engine are crossed over as shown so as to be of sufficient length to effect ram effect supercharging. The box 42 is of substantially the same length as the cylinder banks and has an entry 52 at the middle of one side or at one of the two parallel inclined ends as shown and which has a throttle 56 followed by an air flow sensing venturi controlling the amount of fuel fed by a fuel injection system 38 to nozzles 39.
