Class 38 (4). In a circuit for regulating the temperature of an oven, an auxiliary switch or switches are mechanically coupled to the operating member of a thermostatic switch, so that at certain temperature settings, additional heating elements are switched on or off. In the Figure, heating resistors 1, 2 are positioned in the upper and lower part of the oven, respectively, and are controlled by contacts 3, 4, contact 3 being moved by temperature-sensitive element 9 and contact 4 by knob 5, which is provided with a temperature scale 6. Auxiliary switch 11 con- nected in series with resistor 1 is closed when the knob 5 is set for operation above a certain temperature-say 140‹ C. Resistor 2 may be controlled by a further switch 14 which is operated at certain positions of knob 5.
