Abstract
810,130. Keyholes, key glides. LAY, C. H. Dec. 19, 1956 [Dec. 24, 1955], No. 37016/55. Class 44 A key guide comprises dish-shaped shutter means 5, 5 mounted over a lock keyhole so that the deepest part 10 of the dish is aligned with the keyhole, the shutter means being opened by pressure of the key point at the deepest part 10 to which the key point is guided by the dished surface. As described, the shutters are pivoted 13, 13 to the underside of a casing 1 having an aperture 4 cut therein, and springs 13 extending between lugs 17, 19 formed on the respective shutters urge the shutters to the closed position. An indentation or small aperture may be formed at the deepest part 10 of the dish to facilitate insertion of the key. The shutter means may be mounted on a framework to which the casing 1 is attached, instead of directly on the casing.' In another embodiment, the casing 1 is mounted directly upon the front face of the lock, and one shutter is fixed, the other shutter moving vertically, between guides, against the action of a blade spring, Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown).
