809,886. Plate type heat exchangers. ROSENBLADS PATENTER A.B. March 4, 1957 [March 8, 1956], No. 7036/57. Class 64(3) Relates to plate heat exchangers in which passages for two heat exchanging fluids are defined by spaces between neighbouring plates, e.g. 1, 1a of a stack of such plates, and in which interconnected neighbouring passages for one of the fluids are disposed one on each side of a passage for the other fluid. According to the inventions, such neighbouring passages ab-ab or cd-cd are interconnected by ducts such as d each formed by a pair of aligned flanged ports in adjacent plates, the flanges of adjacent ports forming a duct being in abutment or nearly so. The inlet and outlet ends of each interconnecting duct are preferably rounded as shown. The fluid spaces between adjacent plates are bounded by packings (not shown) in the conventional manner.
