809,573. Making labels. INDUSTRIEWERKE KARLSRUHE A. G. Jan. 2, 1957 [Feb. 20, 1956], No. 141/57. Glass 73 Relates to a device for arranging a thread 4, Fig. 1, adapted to be secured to a tea bag 1, in undulating fashion 5 in a folded label 6 and for securing the thread to the label by a clip 8 which also holds the folded label together. According to the invention the unfolded label 6<SP>1</SP>, 6<SP>11</SP>, Fig. 2, is located in a recess of a carriage or slide 11 and the thread 4 drawn from a roll bears against pins 12, the thread and row of pins extending in the direction of movement of the carriage or slide 11. Two hooks 13 adapted to move transversely engage the thread 4 between the pins 12 and pull it over the lower leaf 6<SP>1</SP> of the label as shown in Fig. 3 and a slider 16 moves the upper leaf 6<SP>11</SP> to fold the label, the clip 8 then being inserted by means (not shown). Means (not shown) are provided for cutting off the required length of thread prior to its engagement by the hooks 13. The carriage or slide 11 may be secured on an endless, chain travelling intermittently or on a rotary table.
