Abstract
524,835. racking garments, SALOMON, S. Feb. 8, 1939, No. 4166. [Class 94 (i)] A packing for garments comprises a hanger 1, Fig. 1, an intermediate supporting- rod 16, and an external wrapping 3 of paper or similar foldable material. The wrapping 3 is provided with an extension 4, and with fold markings 5, 6, 10, and 11 and a slot 14 near the middle of the fold 11. In use, a garment is placed in the hanger, and the loop or suspending device is passed through the slot 14. The supporting-rod 16, which may be of wire with inturned ends 18, is placed behind the garment with the ends 18 in front of the garment. The garment is then folded, 'as shown in Fig. 3, so that the rod 16 is brought up to a position near to the slot 14 where the ends 18 are secured to the wrapping, by adhesive tabs 20 for example. Finally, the wrapping is folded along the markings to form a thin box which may be secured by passing a string around buttons 21, 22 secured to the outer side of the wrapping. The edges of the wrapping may be extended, as indicated at 24, so that the sheet is a rectangle. without the extension 4.
