Abstract
809,325. Hull form, framing. BURNESS, CORLETT & PARTNERS Ltd. [formerly BURNESS, KENDALL & PARTNERS Ltd.]. May 18, 1955 [March 8, 1954], No. 6689/54. Class 113. A ship's hull wherein the hull is shaped to include conical surfaces, a part of the surface of the bottom of the hull on each side of the central line being part of the surface of a cone having its apex to the other side of the centreline, below the waterline, the corresponding bottom surface of the hull to the other side of the centreline being part of an identical cone but to the opposite hand. In Fig. 1 generating lines of a cone having apex A and base B represent, between keel and chine, straight lines a, b. c, d, e, f, g, h on t e hull surface along which the bottom frame members can be placed. As shown in Fig. 2 the bottom frames D, E, F, G, H, I, J, give a herring-bone formation on either side of the keel C with a concentration of bottom framing forward where panting and slamming is met. The ends of the bottom frames are attached to the adjacent structure by brackets K, transverse frame members of such structure being shown at L, M, N, O and P.
