Abstract
809,148. Pulverized fuel-fired furnaces. PRVNI BRNENSKA STROJIRNA, ZAVODY KLEMENTA GOTTWALDA, NARODNI PODNIK. Nov. 20, 1956, No. 35460/56. Class 51(1). A pulverized fuel furnace comprises turbulence burners 2, Fig. 4, and axial flow burners 1. The former, which are arranged in a common horizontal plane and protrude through opposing chamber walls, have means for creating short turbulent flames whilst the latter, which are located in a horizontal plane below the burners 2, are without flame turbulence means, issue long axial flames, and may be pivotally mounted for direction adjustment with respect to the horizontal plane. In another arrangement, the burners 2, Fig. 5, are disposed in one pair of opposing chamber walls and each pair of diagonally opposed burners is connected to a common pulverizer 3, 3<SP>1</SP>, 4 or 4<SP>1</SP>. In a modification of this arrangement, the burners 2 are supplied from adjacent fuel bins. The burner arrangement of Fig. 4 may be associated with a fuel feed system similar to that shown in Fig. 5.
