Class 52(2) The back 12 of a vehicle seat can be lowered about a pivot 14 into alignment with the seat cushion 11 and is retained in its erect position by a movable catch 18 pivoted at 19 on the seat and carrying a headed stud 17 to engage a slot 20 in the mounting bracket 15. A notch 16 in the extended end of the back frame member 13 engages the stud 17 when the back is erect and preliminary forward tilting of the back enables the catch 18 to be released.
