Abstract

808,323. Gas burners; drip trays. PARKINSON & COWAN Ltd. March 5, 1957 [March 28, 1956], No. 9643/56. Classes 75(1) and 126 The shank or mixing tube of a gascooker hot plate burner is formed from sheet-metal pressings welded together and is rigidly attached to a spillage tray or incorporated in a spillage tray as by securing a pressed channel section against the underside of the tray which itself is preferably formed with a pressed co-operating inverted groove. In this latter case the end of the channel pressing is closed and this end of the pressing lies below an opening pierced in the tray and has an upstanding peripheral lip to receive the burner head. In the former case the junction between the two pressings 40, 41 lies horizontally and the upper pressing 40 at the burner end is formed with a upstanding spigot portion 43 to receive the burner head 44 which extends through an opening in the spillage tray 13 to sit on a raised boss 45 on which it is held by a screw 46 passing through the bottom pressing 41. The tube 40, 41 passes through a U-shaped bracket 47 welded to the underside of the tray 13 and is clamped against the tray by a clamping screw 48 carried by the bracket. An airadmission port 26 is controlled by a sliding shutter 27 adjustable from above the tray by a nut 30 .on a screw extending through a slot in the tray.
