807,404. Rotary elevators. MOLINS, D. W., and MOLINS MACHINE CO. Ltd. May 28, 1956 [June 1, 1955], No. 15693/55. Class 78 (1). [Also in Group VI] Alternate pushers 6 of a stub-wheel 2 receive cigarette mouthpiece stubs respectively from an intermittently-rotated fluted drum 5 and from a further stub-wheel 1 receiving stubs from a fluted drum 4 and transferring them to the appropriate pushers 6 via a wheel 3, all the stubs being deposited by the wheel 2 at spaced intervals on a paper web P which, for the manufacture as in Specification 737,329, [Group VI], of cigarettes having hollow-ended mouthpieces, is adapted to be folded and secured round the stubs to form a mouthpiece rod for subsequent division centrally of the stubs into doublelength mouthpieces for use in a composite cigarette rod. Reference is also made to uniting finished mouthpieces with plain cigarettes or enclosing them, in endwise abutment with a tobacco section, in a cigarette wrapper. The pushers 7 of the wheel 3 are slotted to pass the pushers of the wheels 1, 2. Guides 8, 9, 10, the latter two acting to strip stubs from the wheels 1, 3, are provided.
