Abstract

804,776. Smokers' ash-trays. HAPPICH G.m.b.H., GEB. March 25, 1957 [Oct. 31, 1956], No. 9037/57. Class 130. [Also in Group XIV] To prevent rattle of a motor-vehicle drawertype ash-tray 1, rollers 4 revoluble on spring wires 6 mounted in the fixed surrounding casing 3 engage therethrough tray wall grooves 2. As described, each groove 2 is engaged by two spaced rollers. Modifications.-In Fig. 5 (not shown) a dashboard mounted drawer tray is engaged on each side through the tray casing by spaced rollers trunnioned at each end of a spring plate secured at its centre to the tray casing exterior. Fig. 7 shows a somewhat similar mounting in which each spring plate 19<SP>1</SP> is centrally pivoted to the casing 31 internally thereof in cylindrical casing enlargements 32, allowing the sheet metal or " plastic " tray 13<SP>1</SP>, when drawn forward as shown after depressing a leaf spring 39 so that a roller 40 thereon passes its normal end stop 41, to pivot downwards for emptying. Roller groove end stops 42 prevent complete withdrawal of the tray 13 and a fixed frame 43 limits its downward pivoting. A tray grid 38 swings open for tray emptying. In Fig. 10 (not shown) rollers are mounted directly on springy tray casing side walls.
