Abstract
A ceramic material corresponds to the formula (1-x) L2O,x Mo,R2O5 wherein L is sodium which can be partially replaced by potassium, M is cadmium and/or lead. R is niobium which can be partially replaced by tantalum, and x is 0,05 to 0,80 mole, L consisting wholly of sodium when lead is present. The material is prepared by pressing, with a temporary binder, a mixture of the oxides or precursors therefor, prefixing at 1000 DEG -1100 DEG C., powdering the product, shaping the powder and sintering at 1100 DEG -1350 DEG C.
