Abstract

800,545. Air line oilers. BENTON & STONE, Ltd. Dec. 5, 1956 [Jan. 4, 1956], No. 260/56. Class 12 (3). In an air line lubricator of the kind comprising a body part with an airpassage containing a throat between its inlet and outlet ends, a drip-feed device for supplying oil to the throat and an oil vessel attached to the underside of the body part, the throat is variable and is formed by the end of an axiallyadjustable plug and the closed end of a transverse cylindrical bore intersecting the air passage in which the plug operates. Figs. 1 and 2 show a body part a with a passage c which enables pressurized air to pass in either direction and an oil vessel b removably attached to the body part. The passage is intersected by a transverse bore which contains an axiallyslidable plug f, axially adjustable by screw means as shown. Oil is displaced by air pressure from the reservoir b to the air passage c by way of pipe o with non-return valve p, adjustable drip feed k and passages m, n. To enable the oil to be entrained with the air current from either direction two openings q in the body part are provided, one of which is closed by a bush r screwed into the adjacent end of the passage.
