Abstract
800,255. Chimneys; chimney blocks. FAUSER, H. April 24, 1956 [April 25, 1955], No. 12516/56. Classes 25 and 87(1) A chimney block comprises a triple sidewalled hollow structure open at its ends to form an axial central passage which is adapted to constitute part of a chimney shaft in which the middle wall 3, Fig. 1, is spaced from the walls 1, 2, by annular webs 8, 9, staggered axially on each side of it to bound non-coextensive air pockets 10, 11. Axially extending webs 13, 14, Fig. 4, are disposed between the walls 1, 2, 3. In modified blocks, the middle wall-of curved or rectilinear form-is inclined between the outer and inner walls. The web 8 is located intermediate the ends of the wall 3 in yet another modification. In a two-part block the outer and middle walls 61, 63, Fig. 6, are integral, with the connecting piece 62 comprising an annular web, whilst the free end of the wall 63 has an extension 66 constituting a similar web for connection, by mortar 67, to the inner wall block part 70. The wall ends 64, 65, and 71, 72, have jointing faces for connection to adjacent blocks.
