Abstract

The chamber has generally cylindrical outer and inner side walls 16, 18 defining between them a combustion zone closed at one end of the side walls by an end wall 20, the edges of respective flanges 24, 26 of the end wall 20 being such that a small amount of pivoting is possible between the side walls and the end walls to accommodate vibrations of the kind involving relative axial movement of the side walls. The end wall may be continuous or made of arcuate segments. <IMAGE>
