799,777. Casting composite articles. WELLWORTHY, Ltd. July 25, 1955 [April 23, 1954], No. 20869/57. Divided out of 799,775. Class 83 (1). A process of casting aluminium or an aluminium alloy on to a ferrous-metal article consists in contacting the surface of the article with molten aluminium or an aluminium alloy to produce a composite ferro-aluminium interface layer on said surface, quenching the treated article in a bath of an aluminium-free barriermetal, such as zinc or tin or their alloys, which melts at a temperature less than 660‹ C., and then casting on aluminium or an aluminium alloy. Specification 599,684 is referred to.
