799,739. Mine roof support bars. EGGEMANN, WW., and CAMPENHAUSEN, E. VON, '[trading as SCHWARZ KOMMGES., H.]. Aug. 17, 1955 [Aug. 19, 1954], No. 23733/55. Class 20(2) In mine roof support bars engaging end to end by a tongue 25 and a fork 16 connected by a pin 20 and locked by a wedge 29, the pin 20 engages a slot 31 extending longitudinally of the tongue 25. The wedge 29 engages slots 20 in the fork and one of two recesses in the end of the tongue. In a modification, the inner end of the slot 31 is enlarged to form recesses to accommodate the pin 20 and lock the bars against longitudinal movement. In another modification, . the pin is formed with flats which fit the slot 31 which has an enlarged inner end in which the pin can be turned so :that the flattened end is at right angles to the slot and locks the pin and bars in position.
