Drainage of white water through the wirecloth 1 of a Fourdrinier paper-making machine is improved by blades or scrapers A, e.g. each having an angle of 30 degrees at the leading edge 10 and having a flat-topped portion at the front and a sloping trailing portion, followed by further scrapers B, e.g. each having a leading edge 10<SP>1</SP> of 60 degrees.
