Abstract

795,754. Snap-action switches. CUTLERHAMMER, Inc. May 2, 1956 [May 2, 1955], No. 13535/56. Class 38 (5). A lever-operated three-position switch comprises four fixed contacts spaced along a base, and a movable contact adapted in its intermediate position to bridge the two central fixed contacts to complete one circuit, and in its outer positions to bridge one central contact and one outer contact to complete either of two further circuits. As shown, the inner contacts comprise the heads 17 of T-shaped members 17a which are riveted over to secure the contacts and their terminals 14. The outer contacts 20a are carried by plates 20 in recesses 13, 13a, these plates being secured by the riveted ends 21b of lugs 21a on terminals 21. Movable contacts 22c are carried by a rocker 22 acted upon by a spring-urged plunger in an operating lever 24, the member 22 having a central depression 22d. The arms 22a, 22b of the rocker are guided by the parts 13d, 13e of the base 10, and the lever 24 is guided by an aperture 23a in a cover-plate 23.
