Abstract

794,262. Building blocks. BRITISH ART TILE CO., Ltd. Jan. 11, 1956 [Jan, 11, 1955], No. 890/55. Class 87(1) In a building block having a recess 7 in its upper face and a corresponding projection 6 on its lower face, one side face is formed with two or more parallel inclined portions 44 each having an overhanging lip 8. The opposite side face may be similarly formed to give a weatherboard effect, or it may be plane but scored or roughened to receive plaster. One or more apertures 13 may extend from end to end of the block, the upper or only one merging into the the recess 7. The end faces of the block are preferably recessed from top to bottom as at 48 and are provided with shallow grooves 47 parallel to the inclined portions 44, and with a rib 45 and a corresponding groove 46 respectively.
