793,944. Coffee urns. STIEBEL, T. H. Aug. 4,1954 [Aug. 7, 1953], No. 22619/54. Class 129. A coffee urn consists of a coffee filter 3 detachably supported beneath a boiler 1 with an electric immersion heater 23. A tube 4 passes through the base of the boiler and connects a riser tube 25 with the coffee filter 3. The top of the tube 4 has a slot 8 which may be variably blanked off by rotation of a cap 5 mounted on tube 4 and having a co-operating slot 7. The boiler also has a water level indicator 24, a safety valve 34 and a plug-cock 30 by which steam can be released to the cup warmer 36. The rate at which water is expelled from the boiler when boiling is predetermined by the setting of the cap 5, or of the cock 30, so as to vary the quality of the resulting brew.
