793,728. Securing seats to floors. GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION. Dec. 15, 1955 [Dec. 20, 1954], No. 36010/55. Class 52(2) [Also in Group XXXII] A vehicle cab seat 10 is hinged along its forward edge 56 to a seat sub-frame 64 which is itself hinged at 80 to the cab floor so that by tilting the seat forwardly and then allowing the sub-frame to rotate on its hinge 80 the seat 10 may assume the position shown in Fig. 2 to allow access to the under floor engine. A spring-loaded overcentre strut 90, 94 maintains the seat in the elevated position.
