Abstract

788,709. Bunghole bushes. FRAME SOC. ANON. May 29, 1956 [May 31, 1955], No. 16655/56. Class 125(3). A bunghole bush internally threaded to receive a threaded bung 3 has a body 1 of plastic with a collar 9 which seats in a depression 7 in the wall 6 of the container, the lower end of the body being expanded into a circular bulge 12 by the insertion and expansion of a metallic sleeve 14 so that the cylindrical part 8 of the container wall surrounding the orifice is gripped between the bulge 12 and the collar 9. The device has a bottom 15 integral with body 1 but weakened by a circular groove 16 so that it may be removed to obtain-access to the container contents.
