788,338. Inflatable rafts or dinghies. FRANKENSTEIN & SONS (MANCHESTER), Ltd., P., and SILVERSTONE, J. Oct. 5, 1956 [Oct. 5, 1955], No. 28318/55. Class 113. In a raft comprising a flexible impermeable floor outlined by an endless tube B<SP>1</SP> of similar material which is adapted on inflation to support a single person, the floor is designed with substantial fullness and inflatable only at the portion C<SP>1</SP> upon which the occupant sits, this inflatable portion not only providing effective thermal insulation for the occupant but being constructed so as to depend further below the main buoyancy chamber A than the rest C of the floor and thereby to act as a stabilizing keel. The inflatable seat portion C<SP>1</SP> is supplemented by a loose inflatable overlay G adapted to cover the remainder of the floor area. To ballast the structure " water pockets " O of flexible impermeable material are arranged at opposite sides of the main buoyancy chamber A and take the form of narrow shallow boxes each having a row of slots P in the upper part of its outer wall. Specifications 600,489 [Group VII] and 777,870 [Group XXV] are referred to in the Provisional Specification.
