Abstract

787,310. Rotary pumps and motors. GIRVIN, W. L. W. March 8, 1956, No. 7358/56. Class 110(2). A rotary pump or motor comprises two interleaved spiral impellers 8, 17 each of which is recessed as at 10, 10<SP>1</SP>, 10<SP>11</SP>, to receive bearing discs such as 9, 9<SP>1</SP>, 9<SP>11</SP> and is provided with lugs such as 12, 19 to retain said discs in position. The impeller 8 is concentrically journalled in the end wall 2 of the casing whilst the driven impeller 17 is eccentrically journalled in the end wall 3 in order to permit relative movement between the members 8, 17. The device is provided with an inlet 4 and outlet vents 23, 24.
